Background~

Makana Charter's 32 foot Catamaran is operated by Michael Silva, a young entrepreneur from Kauai since 1998. A small business family owned and operated on the island of Kauai, Michael is in charge of the operations, Mackey, his father heads up accounting, sisters and cousins operate reservations. With this incredible family support Makana Charters is destined to succeed.

Mike grew up on Kauai and is a 1997 graduate of Kapaa High School. His former employment included odds and ends jobs at hotels, restaurants, and such but he did not find personal satisfaction in these area's. Fortunately his father gave him the opportunity to start his own business offering chartered tours to the breathtaking Na Pali Coast. Mackey Silva is a wonderful loving father who invested time and much support into his son. They did very well in their first year. By Makana Charter’s first anniversary, they purchased a larger vessel "Makana Charters", with a maximum capacity of 12 people. The word "Makana" in Hawaiian means "gift." What a wonderful gift of love from a father to his son...

Makana Charters offers a 4-5 hour Na Pali Tour daily, except Sundays, from Port Allen Small Boat Harbor. Check in time is about 7:30am with a departure time of 8:00am. Cushioned seating provides a smooth ride aboard the Makana, with restrooms on board. Captain Mike and crew is guaranteed to provide you with a personalized warm aloha trip that you'll never forget.
